Flying with Virgin Atlantic is going to be less sexy, but will ooze Bond-style sophistication – according to the airline’s new TV commercial.
Breaking away from the controversial ads of the past, this latest offering attempts to shake the airline’s anti-feminist reputation, replacing their overtly sexual clips with 007-esque glamour. As you’ll see, the new commercial has clearly been influenced by the unique and legendary styling of a James Bond movie opening credits sequence.
Run in the UK and the US, the ad features the tag-line: “Your airline’s either got it or it hasn’t”. It is said to have cost upwards of US$9 million and is set to the Muse cover of Feeling Good. Sir Richard Branson’s airline faces stiff competition from a number of quality airline TV commercials over the years.
So, much like the recent collection of Worst Tourism TV Adverts, The Herald Sun newspaper has once again put together a selection of its favourites…
Air New Zealand – Nothing to hide
Continental Airlines – Work hard fly right
Virgin Atlantic – 25 years, still red hot
Avianova Airlines – Plane washing
